Although we can not post each and every whale watching trip that we take offshore, we will do our best to post as many as possible. Thank you for your understanding.

We had beautiful weather as we traveled just off the backside of Cape Cod where we were lucky to spend our afternoon with humpback whale, Habenero and her calf of this year.

Some of our passengers first spotted this pair from a distance as the calf was breaching and producing large splashes. As we approached the calf continued to breach several times and then also started flippering! Although mom was spending lots of time on dives, she was always close-by and always surfaced right by her calf.
On several occasions the calf swam right under our bow, rolling around, diving and changing directions. This calf is 7-8 months old now and is getting quite big! The calf’s size was impressive on its own and as fast as it is growing, it was still dwarfed when mom would surface by its side! Habenero and calf will only stay together for about one year before they go their separate ways and will rarely, if ever, associate after even though they will likely return to the same feeding grounds each summer.
We did see several other blows in the area from single humpback whales and we got some distance looks at fluke out dives from these animals.  Another gorgeous afternoon offshore!
