Although we can not post each and every whale watching trip that we take offshore, we will do our best to post as many as possible. Thank you for your understanding.

September 2, 2012 Whale Watches

9 am and 2 pm Whale Watches - Krill

9 am trip:

Our first sightings was awesome! We stopped to watch a single humpback whale that turned out to be one of the friendlies whales we have encountered this season. Samara is the 2008 calf of a humpback mom named Scylla. And this young animal is often seen coming over to boats and saying hello! Check out the video below taken during this trip. She is amazing!''

At the end of our trip, we came across a small pod of common dolphins. This is not a species of toothed whales that we often see offshore at least not this time of the year. Here are some video clips of these quite playful and very acrobatic animals.

Peter and Matt, both volunteers with the Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary, joined us offshore for a whale watch. While offshore, these birders kept a running count of the seabirds and gulls that we saw offshore. Thanks Peter and Matt for a job well done! Here is their bird list below.
