Although we can not post each and every whale watching trip that we take offshore, we will do our best to post as many as possible. Thank you for your understanding.

September 7, 2012 Whale Watch

Fluke out dive by Snare.
Harbor Seal.

12 noon Whale Watch - Krill

Snare's ventral tail pattern.
We headed to Peaked Hill, just off the backside of Cape Cod. There we found at least 15 to 20 humpback whales taking it easy or feeding deep in the area. Our first sighting was a pair of humpbacks that were traveling side-by-side as they surfaced to breathe. We were able to identify Snare and only now when looking at the photos back on land did we confirm the ID of the second humpback whale named Ledge.
Ventral tail pattern of Reflection.
We had a few other groups of humpbacks in this area, and all were feeding deep. This included a pair of humpback whales that we identified as Reflection and Longboard. As we moved away from this pair  to watch other whales, they became very active. Both animals breached out of the water and then started lobtailing.
